SOLACE is the ultimate compact explorer yacht, perfectly suited for global cruising, with a comprehensive range of safety equipment onboard. Featuring a large tender, fishing and dive gear, and an array of toys, she’s well-prepared for adventure.
The Nordhavn 86 is a powerhouse vessel with a remarkable 3,500 nautical mile range at 10 knots, ideal for long-haul journeys across Australia’s diverse coastlines and beyond. Her meticulously organised engine room allows crew easy access, and the foredeck accommodates a substantial tender with room for another.
Inside, SOLACE comfortably sleeps 8 guests across 4 cabins, including a private owner’s suite located aft of the bridge deck with its own exterior deck and ensuite. The VIP cabin, located forward on the main deck, is generously sized, almost like a second master suite. Below the main deck are two additional guest cabins and access to the laundry and engine spaces.
Crew quarters are conveniently located on the main deck, accessible via an exterior port-side door. This area includes a spacious mess, two cabins for up to 4 crew members, and direct access to the engine room and lazzarette.
The exterior deck spaces are designed for seamless entertaining and relaxation. On the aft deck, there’s a large centreline dining table seating 8 or more, a wet bar, and additional storage. Port and starboard access doors lead to a swim platform with safety rails. The walk-around decks provide easy movement throughout, connecting the galley and bridge deck.
Up on the bridge deck, SOLACE is equipped with wing stations for precise manoeuvring and a centreline davit to launch tenders and water toys. The foredeck is a perfect spot for water sports storage and tender operations, while the aft portion of the bridge deck serves as a private owner’s retreat.
The sun deck, a standout feature, can be enclosed with removable Stratta glass panels. It boasts a forward seating area, a dining space under the hardtop, and a Jacuzzi positioned to optimise views while maintaining privacy. Teak decking throughout the exterior (except the non-skid bow) makes maintenance a breeze.
Step inside the main salon, and you’ll find an open layout with a built-in U-shaped settee, floating chairs, and a pop-up TV. The dining area features a square table for 8, and a stylish bar tucks beneath the stairs to the upper deck. The galley overlooks the main deck, ideal for casual or formal entertaining, with a privacy blind available for more intimate dining.
SOLACE’s décor exudes timeless elegance, with fresh carpeting, vibrant fabrics, and neutral tones complemented by high-gloss teak finishes. Recently, the owner commissioned designer Luiz de Basto and naval architects Murray & Associates to extend the hull and superstructure, enhancing the upper owner’s cabin and bridge deck. Detailed plans for a potential upgrade to diesel-electric hybrid propulsion are also available for the new owner.
